GENERATIONS is K-12 school, a modern and innovative educational project, resulting in an international educational institution with Macanese roots, supported by 3 fundamental pillars:

Language Oriented

  • English as first language, followed by Chinese (parents are free to choose between traditional and simplified characters) and Portuguese;
  • Knowledge of the respective cultures of the languages taught, particularly but not limited to China and the Portuguese-speaking countries;
  • Small classes sizes and a large teacher-to-student ratio allow for all three languages to be taught in a customised way. This allows students with different language backgrounds to be accepted and be successful in the related academic objectives (previous knowledge of Portuguese, for example, is not a requirement for School admission);
  • Customised Chinese and Portuguese Programme developed by the School’s qualified staff and academic partners;
  • School is developing towards expanding its offering of languages beyond these three and for students to choose from;
  • Multiple international partnerships in the fields of the arts and languages.

Wellbeing

An appropriate balance between the excellence of the learning and the teaching processes, with the healthy physical, mental and emotional development of students:

  • A truly holistic perspective, with a strong focus on wellbeing, generally incorporated in daily school life and also with a specific Wellbeing subject at all year levels;
  • Fully dedicated Wellbeing Team, focusing on Student Development (identifying, monitoring and developing individual talents and interests), Student Support (providing support in areas such as specific subjects and personal growth), and various initiatives related to sustainability, contact with nature, community service, etc;
  • The integration into the SISU SCHOOLS network marked by the rigor and innovation of the Finnish curriculum and innovative teaching methodologies;
  • Adequate response to the educational requirements of its students with each student having an Individual Learning Plan;
  • Strong student engagement, by ensuring all students have an effective voice and agency in the school´s development and growth;
  • Adoption of international frameworks such as the International Baccalaureate;
  • Full compliance with the guidelines emanating from the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) Government, namely the Basic Academic Requirements.
