Dear Families,
We are proud and delighted to share the joyful news that Mr. Tom Kline will be joining Generations as our new Head of School from February 2026. I would like to open a window into why this appointment matters so much for our community – and why I feel so hopeful and inspired about the years ahead.
We also extend our deepest, warmest gratitude to Mr. Pekka Eksyma, our founding principal, whose visionary leadership has been a true gift to Generations. Mr. Eksyma’s profound dedication to our Finnish-inspired wellbeing model, his nurturing of our trilingual heart, and his gentle yet steadfast guidance have illuminated our path, creating a school where every child feels seen and every teacher inspired. His legacy of kindness, innovation, and community will endure as we transition seamlessly until 1st March into this exciting new chapter with Mr. Kline.
From our very first conversations, it was clear that Mr. Kline is, above all, a learner and a listener. He has led international schools across Asia, guided IB programmes, and worked with diverse communities – yet he speaks first about children’s expressions, teachers’ daily work, and the small, human moments that make a school feel like home. He believes that every child carries a unique light within them – much like our founders’ unshakable belief – and that our job as educators is to create the conditions where that light can shine with confidence and joy.
This vision sits beautifully alongside our mission at Generations: to blend strong academic challenge with a deep commitment to wellbeing, drawing on Finnish best practices, a rich trilingual environment, and our Macanese roots. As Head of School, Mr. Kline will help us deepen this balance – sharpening our academic ambition, while also ensuring that our classrooms remain places of warmth, curiosity, and courageous thinking. His leadership will support our students not only to achieve excellent results, but to grow as kind, resilient, and globally minded young people, with exceptional communication and language skills.
In his first months with us, Mr. Kline’s focus will be connection. You will see him in classrooms, on the playground, and at the school gate; listening to students’ stories, learning from teachers, and asking families what you most cherish about Generations. We will also invite you to a special “Meet the Head of School” gathering after Chinese New Year where he will share more about his journey, his values, and his hopes for our shared future.
